Introduction

The full copyright for Shattered Twilight is shown below; this is a simplified, non-legally-binding explanation.

• You are more than welcome to create works set in the world of Shattered Twilight (or using elements thereof) if you do not profit from the work.
• You are welcome to create works set in the world of Shattered Twilight for which you earn 50 USD or less (or the equivalent in local currency), as long as the total amount you have earned from works set in Shattered Twilight is less than 500 USD (or the equivalent in local currency).
• For anything else, you'll need to contact me james (at) day (dot) za (dot) net and we can come to an agreement. If it's a big work, I might ask for royalties or some other concession, but if it's just a painting that you made that happens to be worth 75 USD instead of 50, I'm not going to be difficult about it.
• You keep the copyright to any works you make set in Shattered Twilight, but the copyright to any characters, locations, concepts etc. you create as part of the world of Shattered Twilight becomes mine. This is just so that I don't end up only having access to half of the world I originally created.

Legal Copyright Notice

1. Monetary values are here defined in USD. Where the actual money involved is in another currency, the conversion rate is to be the highest exchange rate (ie. the most USD obtained for the amount of currency used) within the 6 months following the relevant transaction or transactions.
2. "Shattered Twilight"is defined as the Shattered Twilight setting, all locations, characters, concepts, and other entities included in or associated with it, as well as all stories written or otherwise published by the copyright holder of the setting.
3. The copyright and all intellectual property rights to Shattered Twilight are exclusively the property of James Young.
4. Any person may create and/or publish any work set in or associated with Shattered Twilight provided that they earn no profit, direct or indirect, from the publication of such a work.
5. Any person may create and/or publish any work set in or associated with Shattered Twilight provided that total gross profit, from the publication of such a work, both direct and indirect, for all parties involved, does not exceed 100 USD (refer to (1) above), and that the total lifetime gross profit, both direct and indirect, from all of the creator's works set in or associated with the Shattered Twilight does not exceed 500 USD (refer to (1) above).
6. The creation or publication of any work not covered by clauses (5) and (6) above constitutes a copyright violation unless explicit permission has been provided by the copyright holder, except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.
7. When any work set in or associated with Shattered Twilight is published, the creator of the work retains copyright for the work itself, but copyright for any and all locations, characters, concepts and other entities established by the work explicitly or implicitly as being part of the Shattered Twilight setting passes to the copyright holder of Shattered Twilight.
